Botox injections
- Botox is a substance that temporarily paralyzes muscles (and scientifically it is Clostridium botulin toxin).
- Its effect is temporary about 4-6 months, so the procedure must be repeated to obtain permanent results.
- Temporary muscle paralysis will hide wrinkles and give the face a more youthful appearance.
Botox uses :
- Removing wrinkles at the tip of the eye and raising eyebrows.
- Remove forehead wrinkles.
- Removing the frowning between the eyebrows (frown).
- Lip augmentation.
- It is used medicinally to treat some other diseases (as a treatment for excessive sweating in the armpits and hands).
Procedure method
- A very thin injection is inserted under the skin in the muscle line, then Botox is injected. Small bleeding may occur that usually stops within minutes.
Anesthesia and duration of procedure
- It is performed under local anesthesia, usually with an ointment, and may not require anesthesia in some cases, and it does not take more than 10 minutes.
Post-operative advice
- The patient can leave immediately after the Botox injection.
- Results are visible after 2-5 days.
- A mild headache may occur after the injection that goes away by itself or with a light dose of analgesics.
- After Botox injections, it is very necessary to rest and avoid some movements (such as carrying children, prostrating, or pressing and lying on the injection site).
- Avoid rubbing the area.
- Refer to the doctor if any other symptoms appear (heat – pus – severe pain).
