When is otoplasty performed?

• Otoplasty is usually performed after the age of 5 years (after the ears are full).

Anaesthesia

• The surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthesia, according to each case.

The stages of the surgery

• Anaesthesia.
• Surgical incision (behind the ear or in the inner bends).
• Ear restructuring (removal of excess skin and cartilage, correction of the site and location, or manufacture of the pinna).
• Close the incision.

The duration of the surgery

• The operation takes approximately one to two hours.

Post-operative advice

• Care for bandages by following up with the doctor.
• Pain relievers in case you feel some discomfort, follow up with the doctor.
• Avoid sleeping on your side to take pressure off the ear.
• After removing the bandages, the results will be visible immediately and the results are permanent.
